Willow Creek Loop Trail
The Willow Creek Loop Trail is a 2.8-mile loop route that begins at the Willow Creek Horse Camp, located on the south side of Highway 244 about 6 miles west of Mount Rushmore. Because of the incline and rugged nature of the trail, it is not easy, but better rated as intermediate. The trail passes many rock outcroppings through forest that is thick in places. The Lost Cabin Trail (Trail #2) and the Harney Peak North Trail (Trail #9) each intersect with the Willow Creek Loop Trail (Trail #8). In the fall, aspens along the trail provide vibrant colors.
